ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2013

• Conducts stakeholders meeting where Sesame road map was developed.
• Identified/selected 300 Sesame farmers, each in the ten states. Kebbi,Taraba ,Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, Yobe ,Gombe ,Niger, Bauchi, Kaduna and FCT.
• Roll out Sesame seed GES in the ten State.
• Awarded contract to NCRI for the production of 1MT of breeder seed and supply 3MT 0f foundation seed to out growers for multiplication.
• Awarded contract to NAERLS for the supply of 10MT of certified seed to 300 farmers in 10 States.
• Production of extension guides /leaflets for Sesame farmers.
• Conducts capacity building for 3000 farmers.
• Conducts on-farm demonstration in 10 States.
• 2,629 Sesame farmers accessed farm inputs.
• Roll out fertilizer and certified seeds in 10 States.
• Capacity building for export development for Sesame.
• On farm demonstration of best agronomic practices in collaboration with NAERLS for 3000 farmers in 10 states.

ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE YEAR 2014

• Conducts sensitization exercise in the five new States, ( Katsina, Jigawa, Plateau, Niger and Kebbi.
• Sesame Seed value chain successfully Roll out in 2014 in the fifteen States.
• Each farmer accessed 5kg of Certified Seed and 2 (50kg) of NPK and are expected to cultivate 1ha.
• 2MT of Breeder Seed of Sesame were produced through NCRI.
• 3MT of foundation Seed were procured and delivered to out growers for certified seed production.
• Signed MoU with WACOT on Sesame Seed development in four States from 2014-2016.
• Production of 4500 copies of extension guide on Sesame production and distributed to Sesame farmers in 15 States.
• Conduct capacity building for farmers in 15 States.
• Conducts workshop in collaboration with Export Promotion Council on effect of Aflatoxin and other band chemicals in Sesame export.
• Conducts on-farm demonstration in five locations to enhance productivity.
